Ecorys finds that producing eSAF in Rotterdam would contribute around €1.3 billion a year to Dutch GDP and support 4,000 to 6,400 jobs in the Netherlands. It would avoid up to 750,000 tonnes of CO₂ a year.
If the fuel is imported instead, Dutch fuel suppliers still need to buy it. Ecorys estimates this would mean around €300 million a year spent on eSAF imports in 2030, rising to more than €1 billion a year by the mid-2030s, with the jobs and value created in other countries.
