Andreas Opfermann, Charmain and Non-Executive Director

Andreas Opfermann joined the Board of Power2X following his role as Executive Vice President Clean Energy of Linde plc, the world’s leading industrial gas and engineering company. In this position he developed a Clean Energy project portfolio valued at more than $5b and closed several associated major investments.

Until 2021, Andreas was EVP and COO Linde America, a business with 20.000 employees across 16 countries. Before he was CEO of AGA, Stockholm, the Linde company in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Andreas joined Linde in 2005 in Corporate Strategy and subsequently held a variety of management positions in Technology, Innovation, Clean Energy, Digitalization and Sustainability. Prior to Linde, he worked for six years at McKinsey & Company.

Andreas advised the Government as a member of the German National Hydrogen Council and holds a Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, England.

Dagmar Rehm, Non-Executive Director

Dagmar Rehm has been acting for around 10 years as Non-Executive Director to a number of German and international companies where she chairs Audit & Risk committees and is chair or member to the remuneration committee.

Dagmar has a long-lasting background as CFO, having last been on the executive board of Juwi AG, one of the major German project developers in the renewable space which concentrates on onshore wind farms in Germany and utility size solar plants in several countries worldwide.

Prior to serving as CFO with Juwi AG, Dagmar held several CFO positions in the Bilfinger SE group, an international Germany stock listed construction and industry service providing group. Amongst other tasks she successfully completed an IPO with her colleagues in the FI sector, BBGI, which stock listed at the LSE in 2011.

Dagmar holds a Master degree in Economics from the University of Mannheim, Germany.

Taco de Haan, Non-Executive Director

Taco de Haan joined Power2X as advisor early 2023 and has now joined the Board as Non-Executive Director. Taco brings 35 years of experience in the engineering, constructing, and maintaining of large industrial assets in the energy & chemicals space. He has been responsible for defining & delivering several large projects around the world. Taco was a senior executive leading large, global, organizations and was Group President of the corporate until 2023 Group President at Fluor corporation and in the recent years acted as CEO of Stork Holding with close to 20.000 employees.

Besides his deep project experience covering the Feasibility, FEED, EPC and O&M phases of industrial assets, Taco developed specific leadership skills on Safety, Talent Development, Merger & Acquisitions and setting up Joint Ventures & New Ventures across the world.

Taco holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master in Business Administration and participated in several management development programs such as Thunderbird University in Phoenix and Organizational Change Management from the University of Miami.

Chantal Beck, Non-Executive Director

Chantal Beck is a Managing Director at CPP Investments, leading the Fund’s portfolio value creation across the Sustainable Energies Group and supports the CPPIB’s investment activity across the energy transition.

Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2022, Chantal was a Partner at McKinsey & Company where she led the Global Energy Transition and Decarbonization service line and the Energy Metal and Mining group in the UK. Chantal brings expertise in strategy, operations, and organization topics.

Chantal received a BA in Economics from Barnard College, Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Art Pithayachariyakul, Non-Executive Director

Art Pithayachariyakul is Principal, Sustainable Energies at CPP Investments. He has been with CPPIB since 2017 and is part of the Sustainable Energies Group, where he leads the Fund’s European Green Molecules strategy, focused on investing in hydrogen and hydrogen derivative projects. Art has evaluated investment opportunities in energy midstream, refining, and alternative fuels. He previously spent five years in technical and operational capacities with Chevron Canada and Teck Resources.

Art holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Rob Mellema, Non-Executive Director

Rob Mellema is a Managing Director in the Office of the CIO at CPP Investments where he leads the Private Equity and Real Assets team that oversees the Fund’s allocation to Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Sustainable Energies.

Rob joined CPP Investments in 2008 in Direct Private Equity before becoming a founding member of the Fund’s Energy group where he led the Energy Infrastructure team. Rob has led multiple landmark investments at CPPIB including the Fund’s first control investment, one of its earliest platform investments, and its first investment in Carbon Capture, Use and Sequestration. In 2021, Rob joined the Office of the CIO to advance the Fund’s work on Real Assets, investment process and governance, and more recently Private Equity. Previously, Rob held positions with UBS and the Boston Consulting Group.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Palmer Scholar. Rob has been a member of various investment committees and portfolio company boards and is currently a director at Wolf Midstream and at Power2X.

Occo Roelofsen, Chief Executive Officer

Occo Roelofsen is the CEO of Power2X, which he founded in 2020.

Until 2020, Occo was with McKinsey & Company for 20 years, where he was a Senior Partner and leader of their global Oil & Gas Practice. With his extensive experience in the energy sector, he worked with a broad range of energy clients including international oil & gas companies, power utilities, as well as National Oil Companies (NOCs), and Private Equity (PE) firms.

Occo obtained an MSc. in system engineering, policy analysis and management from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, focusing on energy and process design, and he holds an MBA from INSEAD.
